What is a reed diffuser and how do they work?
Reed diffusers are devices that use the principles of diffusion to disperse scents into your home or office. The diffuser is filled with scented oil to fragrant a room. The scents are naturally dispersed through the reeds into the air without the need for electricity. K-Luxxe reed diffusers are especially popular for use in small spaces, such as bedrooms and bathrooms.
What is the difference between various Reed Diffuser oils?
There are many types of Reed Diffuser oils available on the market today in various fragrances. However, the quality of the oil can vary significantly. The main difference between oils is how long they will last and how strong their scent will be. The high-quality oils used in K-Luxxe reed diffusers are designed to provide a long-lasting fragrance that will last 4-6 months, while many other oils will only last weeks before they lose their scent completely.
Can I re-use my reed diffuser sticks?
We do not recommend re-using your reed diffuser sticks. They work by absorbing fragrant-infused oil and releasing the scent into the air. Over time, the sticks will lose their capacity to absorb new oil and therefore lose their fragrance. You may reactivate the fragrance of your diffuser by adding new reed sticks to the oil.
Can I stretch my reed diffuser oil with water or oil to make it last longer?
Diluting the oil will reduce its effectiveness and lessen the scent. It is important to keep in mind that you cannot reverse the process of diluting your oil. At K-Luxxe, we take great care to create the perfect balance between oil and fragrance and recommend using our oils undiluted. If you need additional oil for your reed diffuser, you can simply order a replacement oil in your favourite fragrance.
How long do Reed Diffusers last?
Reed diffusers are a great way to add a soothing scent to any room. However, how long the scent lasts depends on the quality of oils and reeds used. Many low-quality oils will often lose their scent after just a few weeks. At K-Luxxe we only use oils and reeds of the highest standard to ensure a long-lasting fragrance of 4-6 months.
Why is my reed diffuser’s scent not strong enough?
If the scent of your reed diffuser doesn’t fill the room, it may be because the room is a little too large. For larger rooms, we recommend placing multiple reed diffusers on opposite sides of the room to ensure a good result. Another reason your diffuser’s scent isn’t strong enough may be because the reed sticks need replacing. Also make sure you only use K-Luxxe’s original oils, as some low-quality oils simply won’t last very long.
Can I use different fragrances in different rooms of my home?
You can absolutely use different fragrances in different rooms, depending on your personal preferences. In a bathroom setting, you may want to use scents like lavender or citrus while in a room where you don’t want the scent to be too overpowering, such as in your bedroom, you could use scents like jasmine or vanilla. My diffuser still has oil in it but the fragrance doesn’t seem to be diffusing
If you are noticing that your reed diffuser still has oil residue in it, but the fragrance is not diffusing as well as it used to, it may be time to replace the reeds. Over time, the reeds in your diffuser can clog and lose their capacity to diffuse the oils in your diffuser. Replacing the reeds can reactivate the scents and extend your diffuser’s lifespan.

Can I order replacement oils for my K-Luxxe reed diffuser?
If you already own a K-Luxxe reed diffuser and would simply like to purchase replacement oils, you can simply do so through our online store. We provide over a dozen different fragrances and you can either stock up on more of the same oil or try a new fragrance. When adding a new fragrance to your reed diffuser, be sure to give it a rinse and let it dry before adding the new oil.
Do you offer custom fragrances?
Custom blends are available on request – Message K-Luxxe and we will endeavour to source your favourite fragrance for you!
Can I reduce/increase the scent throw of my reed diffuser?
To reduce the scent throw, simply reduce the number of reeds in the diffuser. The more reads, the stronger the scent dispersed into the room.
